Salto Mortale is a short fiction film (2010) by director/screenwriter Christos Massalas.

Synopsis:
Incapable of grasping the possibility of change in her middle-class environment, R, seeks for a new context (and new attire) in which her distorted femininity can find shape and possibility.

In my slow process of catching up with music that was created as part of various collaborations during the past decade (or so), I found three complete tracks (and some other unfinished...) belonging to the short film Salto Mortale (2010) by director/screenwriter Christos Massalas. A couple of them were made for dark, night club scenes (thus the ...heaviness), and a shorter relaxing instrumental for an ourdoor scene.

The video added to this album was created specifically for a multidisciplinary festival in London (irrlevant to the above film), using a varied mixture of snapshots from: i) the film Salto Mortale, ii) a composition for 11 musicians and video (by videographer Kyveli Anastasiadi) written for the LSO (2014), iii) images made by participating audience members, and iv) background music taken from an older solo piano piece of mine entitled 'DIY1: the pianist & the lamp' (2008).
