about

A collection of two solo cello works, showcasing my collaboration with the unstoppable cellist Loukia Loulaki over a period of 2 years:

The first piece 'The black art of obscurantism' (inspired by a quote by the german philosopher Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche) was commissioned by the London Sinfonietta and was premiered by Olly Coates at Southbank Centre, London in 2013. Loukia took it for a spin a few years later, and you can now ...marvel at the results (video production by Damian Posse Photography).

One piece was never enough (you know... like Pringles and Oreos). So, the second piece of this album 'Nothing is left to tell...' (based on Samuel Beckett's playlet Ohio Impromptu), was commissioned and premiered by Loukia in Vienna and London (Borough New Music: Series 12, St George the Martyr).

The first piece is also now selected by the Los Angeles based Chamber Orchestra Kaleidoscope, as one of the finalist compositions of their renowned 2021 call for scores!
